Mark Grindrod supplies and erects a modular building system called Structural Modular Insulation Panel System or SMIPS for short.
This timber structural panel system is designed to meet high levels of insulation whilst maintaining perfect flat walls, floors and ceilings.
A very versatile method of construction allowing you to create and design your own layout, the system is made on site to meet your exact requirements, all external panels are structural with breathable membranes/ insulation and vapour barrier.
There is a load bearing panel meaning the system is structurally sound for up to four storeys. Within the panels Mark can also incorporate old oak timbers which can be structural or decorative. This system allows you to create your own lay out and have an input on-site in your design. It’s basically giving you a draft free, fully insulated new build inside your beautiful stone barn/ home.
The system can also be used as an independent building clad in a material of your choice giving you an office, gite, pool house, games room etc.
All of these benefits make this system is the perfect method for conversion of barns and full renovations.
Since leaving school Mark had 35 years experience in the construction industry and design of new homes, nine years of which as projects manager for large housing companies. Before leaving for France 13 years ago he completed 3 new build timber frame bungalows as one of my self build projects.
Below are before and after pictures of a project Mark recently completed near Confolens.
